Language, as a social practice, shapes individuals’ knowledge and interaction within society. Brazil’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity demands a Portuguese Language education that values the progression of students’ linguistic knowledge. In the twenty-first century, the digital era requires the reformulation of pedagogical practices, adapting them to students’ distinctive profiles. National Portuguese Language Day, celebrated on November 5, provides an opportune moment to reflect on the role of our language in national identity and communication. This study presents a teaching experience that integrates Portuguese Language instruction with digital technologies, fostering students’ creativity and collaboration, with a focus on text production for digital environments. The Canva platform was used as a pedagogical tool for the creation of visual and written texts, exploring its various features. Students developed reading, writing, research, and text production skills, while enhancing their expression and communication. Canva’s extensive library of templates, images, and fonts allowed for the customization of projects, making them attractive and engaging. The methodology adopted was qualitative, with results analyzed through direct observation and closed-ended questionnaires. The findings indicated that most students considered the experience motivating and highlighted the importance of reinforcing activities that value students’ culture and linguistic identity. In addition, the experience underscored the need to explore new digital tools and resources in order to make Portuguese Language teaching more dynamic and relevant for students in the digital age.
