Abstract

The students of Proeja IFF - Campus Centro presents many difficulties in reading and production of texts, a phenomenon whisch happens in the six modules of the course of Electrical. This work is part of project "Thinking in urban violence in Campos dos Goytacazes and improving writing" - a process of philosophical reflection and text production as a pedagogical strategy of philosophy subject to raise causes and solutions to the problem. Basing on the work Sobre a Violência Hannah Arendt, this study is being developed with the module II of the aforementioned course. Questionnaire form was applied to a sample of 12 students, to raise the transcript data and possible causes of their difficulty with writing. Preliminary results show a combination of causes the students’ difficulty with writing: unselfishness, personal difficulty of the Portuguese language learning and the methodology of the teachers of this area. "Communicating better" is what they expect as the main outcome of the project because they “like to study." The direction and production of texts are two deeply implicated and key moments in overcoming the difficulty of writing of the project participants. Importantly also the social relevance of Proeja as social inclusion policy and professional qualifications as the survey data show be 25 (twenty five) years the average age of their students and more than ten (10) years on average away from school benches.
