“AFRODITE SEM OLIMPO” BLOG: AN ANALYSIS OF INTERTEXTUALITY

Resumen

This article presents the blog as a writing and reading system characterized as a form of hypertext. Because of their dynamic structure, blogs are tools that allow for rapid updating and eclecticism, offering countless possibilities of content. When analyzed from a semantic perspective, the term “intertextuality” provides an understanding of the characteristics of language. The aim of this study is to discuss the concept of intertextuality based on the literature and to illustrate it through the blog Afrodite sem Olimpo, written by a Brazilian woman known on the internet as Afrodite. In this blog, the author narrates episodes from her daily life while alluding to the Greek goddess of beauty, love, and fertility, blending these references with other information published in this online diary. Throughout this study, the textual information presented in the blog is analyzed in light of hypertextuality. The methodology
adopted was a literature review of works by leading authors in discussions of intertextuality on the internet, which supported the analysis of the aforementioned blog. The results indicate that Afrodite sem Olimpo is one possible model of hypertext circulating on the web, as it offers a contemporary and poetic interpretation of the meanings of beauty and love as proposed by its creator, providing a meaningful experience for readers who engage with its content by exploring its literary and mythological origins and
its application in the transmission of information. The intertextual dialogue found in the blog allows for reflection on beauty and its meanings, exploring different senses and cultural references.
