Resumen

It is often reported the use of lamps and LEDs to display the charging and discharging of a capacitor in an RC circuit, thus allowing a qualitative study of circuit. This study aims to explore the Arduino microcontroller to perform a quantitative study and qualitative of the charge and discharge of an RC circuit variations in LED brightness due to discharge of the capacitor were evaluated. It was found that on the brightness time of the LED is directly related to the capacitor discharge curve and consequently the value of the equivalent capacitance. The results show, the Arduino as a promising tool for data acquisition, making possible the measurement of characteristic times of the order of milliseconds.
