INTERVENÇÃO FISIOTERAPÊUTICA NA SÍNDROME DOLOROSA COMPLEXA REGIONAL: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

Abstract

The complex regional pain syndrome type I and II is a condition of unknown causes, where the outstanding characteristics are sensory and motor abnormalities, with exacerbating algic situation which is not conducive to its full extent. It is observed in the literature a lack of physiotherapy protocols in CRPS leading to an unsatisfactory treatment. Objectives: Pointing protocols with the best results in the last 10 years. Methodology: It is a literary survey study in the period from February 2003 to June 2013. MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online) and SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) were the databases used. Results and Discussion: Nine scientific articles, in English and Portuguese, were included, with approaches of different treatments and positive results in the various protocols were founded. However, kinesiotherapy showed a great relevance in the outcome of CRPS, showing up as part needed for the treatment. An understanding of action and clinical efficacy of different therapy modalities, such as TENS, hydrotherapy, mirror therapy, drainage, functional training and pain relief, are urgently required to help physiotherapists in clinic practicing. Final considerations: The use of different ways of treatment for CRPS has been shown efficient, however, it is still needed the development of randomized clinical trials, having greater relevance and quantity of sample, concerning to the small amount of job related to this topic.
